Welcome to a fresh approach to your health
Medical and mental health professionals are recognizing that the whole person must be treated to relieve pain and suffering. My treatments encompass the whole person and treat the underlying cause therefore addressing virtually any illness, acute or chronic. I believe in deep listening and teaching you how to understand your body so you can live your best life.
I treat first aid and acute conditions such as pain, injury, cold and flu, urinary tract infections, skin infections, post surgical healing and travel illness. I also provide a wide range of effective interventions in chronic conditions including allergies, asthma, digestion, hormone imbalances, fatigue, depression, anxiety, neurological disorders, auto-immune conditions, weight loss and skin conditions.
Naturopathic medicine, homeopathy, and traditional chinese medicine can be alternatives to mainstream medicine, or powerful complements that reduce side effects caused by medication and support the healing process.
Alternative medicine is a great option for you if:
Your family doctor keeps prescribing medication, but you aren't getting better.
You've seen several specialists but no one seems to understand what's causing your symptoms.
You're considering surgery for an ongoing health problem, but the surgeon has told you there's no guarantee it will work, and even a chance you will get worse, which worries you.
You're tired of struggling and getting nowhere. You just want to be healthy and pain-free so you can live your life.
I want that for you too.
Treatment based on the individual - not just the illness
Although our work together often begins with a specific condition or concern, you may find over time that we've cleared up other lingering problems, be they physical or emotional. That's because I take your entire being into account while prescribing treatments.
Homeopathy is the mainstay of my practice in synergy with other treatments. This system of medicine considers our differences, not just what makes us the same. Even though a group of people may have the same pathological condition - for example, hypertension, diabetes, or arthritis - each person will express their disease process in a unique way, requiring different remedies.
For example, one person with arthritis may have swelling, heat, anger and restlessness and may respond to Apis, a homeopathic medicine derived from the honeybee. Another may be sensitive and weepy, and in need of company, fresh air, and a different remedy.
Remedy prescribing is an individual process mirroring the uniqueness of each person - a completely different model than the pharmaceutical approach you will find in your family doctor's office.
What to expect when you visit
Your first appointment can last an hour and a half or more. If this is your first time visiting and alternative health practitioner, it is a different experience. You may be surprised at the questions that I may ask. This may be the first time you have been asked about your dreams, sleep patterns, and food preferences. I work hard to understand my patients and I take notes while we are together. I may ask you about fears, stresses in life, grief and emotional background. As a homeopath, I then take all this information and look for patterns as well as anything peculiar that makes your condition individual to you. I study specific books and reference information to choose a remedy suited to you. There are over 4,000 remedies to choose from. I may prescribe something straight away, or time may be needed for study and you will be sent a remedy in the mail.
Specializations and Treatments
I am a highly trained and specialized practitioner with experience in several different modalities. This allows me to draw on different approaches and remedies depending on your needs.
In many parts of the world, gentle medicine is prescribed before harsh pharmaceuticals or invasive surgeries, and this is the approach of the homeopath. This gentle medicine can include plants, minerals or other natural compounds.
Homeopathy stimulates the body's natural response and is built on the premise that the mind, body and emotions are not separated, but are fully integrated. We seek a remedy that fits all physical and psychological symptoms.
Because Homeopathy sees no distinction between mind, emotions and the body, the effect of the remedies is to bring the whole into balance and health. Your body makes an auto-correction in its own way. Similar to the game of dominos, improvement takes place at your body's own speed and order. Recovery is individual, and can depend on a variety of factors: the prescribing homeopath's ability to elicit information, how long you have been on conventional medications, among other things.

Not all stress is bad but chronic stress can have a long term impact on your health and well being. Mood swings, panic attacks, depression, digestive issues, weight issues, fatigue, and hormonal imbalances are all classic symptoms of broken body systems caused from long term stress. Functional Medicine can make significant changes in energy, sleep patterns, and mood.
A hormonal imbalance can happen at any age. Contributing factors include heredity, lack of exercise, obesity, poor quality sleep, trauma, inflammation, thyroid and adrenal problems, ovarian failure as well as exposure to pesticides, chemicals, environmental pollution and toxins. Diet, supplementation and lifestyle are the building blocks from which we can begin to make significant changes in energy, sleep patterns and health. Functional medicine programs are suited for those with chronic health issues as well as people who want to achieve or maintain optimal health.
If we decide to incorporate functional medicine into our work together, lab based information is used to identify and test your stressors and with that information, we will design a wellness program. Functional Medicine is a system-based, science-driven form of medicine that focusses on finding the underlying cause of disease rather than just treating your symptoms.
Oriental Medicine & Acupuncture
In Chinese Medicine, the body is seen as having a flow of energy (Qi) between interconnecting meridians, and this network can be used to diagnose or to treat. Signs and symptoms are associated with a disruption of the flow of Qi. Acupuncture is used to restore the natural flow of Qi and thus assist your movement towards health.
If you are looking for an effective way to work with injuries, accidents and pain, you may want to consider the proven healing of Acupuncture. Acupuncture has the ability to take the body to the deepest places of relaxation. Acupuncture treatments are exponential and most effective when given in a series of appointments.
Integrative Body Psychotherapy
Pain can result from the way you process your emotional life and how you respond with chronic muscular holding patterns. I offer compassionate support to help cultivate positive coping strategies with life stressors. I am trained in Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP), a form of therapy that helps us tune into cues from our body and use them to understand what might be causing us emotional or physical pain or anxiety.
The connection between the mind and body is powerful, and Integrative Body Psychotherapy gives us a mapping system to understand and nourish this. Learn how your emotional habits and patterns can keep you stuck and in pain. I can teach you methods for releasing stress and tools to help ground and comfort you when life gets hard. You’ll discover ways to access your well being and you’ll start to feel good again. I have completed the three year IBP program, and I am a level II Satir practitioner.
