Dr. Jennifer Doan ND HOM RSHom (NA) RAc.
Integrative Medicine. Professional Homeopathy. Hope.
My approach to healthcare is holistic, inclusive and integrative. I have worked as a Professional Homeopath and Naturopathic Physician since 1997 and I have a wide range of tools and experience and so if you are feeling lost, I can start you on your path of feeling good again.
I seamlessly blend professional classical homeopathy with contemporary themes. I am known for deep creative homeopathic prescribing and inspiring lectures.
My base is Vancouver BC and I see patients in person and onlinein British Columbia, Alberta and across Canada and the US. I provide professional holistic care for adults and children, looking to make permanent shifts in their health.
Training and Background
I have many different facets to my background and training that make up who I am. Below is a bit about my background as well as what all my letters mean.
I have graduated from the Australasian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Sydney, Australia, and also hold a Doctor of Naturopathy from the Canadian College of Naturopathic medicine in Toronto, Ontario. My advanced training in homeopathy includes Lou Klein’s three year post graduate Homeopathic Master Clinician (HMC) program. I have completed the three-year post graduate Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) training with the IBP institute in California, USA and have advanced training from the Satir Institute of the Pacific.
I belong to several Homeopathic organizations including the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH) as well as the Canadian Society of Homeopaths (CSH) and the Alberta Homeopathic Association.
I hold a license with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists. I am trained in meditation and energy work along with other somatic and consciousness awareness practices.
I am a forever student
I study with some of the most innovative teachers working today including Dr. Rajan Sankaran and the Bombay group, Louis Klein, Michal Yakir, Jan Sholten, Dr. Jonathon Hardy, Dinesh Chauhan, Roger Morrison, Jayash Shah, Sujit Chatterjee and Schachindra and Bawisha Joshi. My homeopathic style follows the school of Dr. Rajan Sankaran, Jan Sholten and Michal Yakir.I stay ontop of new developments in the rapidly evolving science of homeopathy where my studies take me travelling the world. My studies take me to Europe, all over North America and India. I am a promoter and advocate for homeopathy and deeply involved in co-hosting my local homeopathic study group.
I am an explorer
It took me time to get to where I am now. I wasn’t one of those people who knew what they wanted to do when they were young and I couldn’t see the purpose in following along a path that I couldn’t resonate with. I wanted to explore the world. I spent most of my 20s travelling extensively around the world and consider myself privileged to have had the opportunity to have many different experiences, try on different vocations and explore different aspects of my nature from my creative side to my scientific nerd side.
My journey of self discovery has unfolded with studies in Naturopathic Medicine, mindfulness, photography, homeopathy, functional medicine, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Satir work and my own personal healing work.
I am a teacher and lecturer
I am known in the community for my knowledge in Homeopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have taught and inspired hundreds of students as senior lecturer and clinic advisor at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic medicine and mentor preceptors and lecture at local and national Homeopathic and Naturopathic workshops and conferences.
One of my core values is education, and I have developed a series of online companion courses as resource for my patients and other practitioners. As we work together, you have access to these courses for support and can touch in anytime for information, encouragement and guidance.
I am also a science nerd
There is a science fact-driven part of me that understands the biochemistry that stress is an important factor and has as an impact on the body. For many, functional medicine is an irreplaceable tool in rebuilding broken body systems and an important component of gaining back real health and energy. I have completed training with Dr. Dan Kalish in California in Functional Medicine.
I am a trusted advisor
I’ve got your back. I take this trusted position seriously and make decisions about the practice based on my patients’ best interests. Because of my commitment to you, you can feel safe knowing that I stay informed and on top of new developments.
My Lineage
I’d like to share a deep offering of gratitude to all of my teachers and mentors over the years who have helped shape the practitioner I have become.
