Many people these days find themselves on some kind 'diet': the anti-inflammatory diet, a low carb diet, high fat diet, or Sumo Wrestler style (eating one (or two) meals a day).
There is an intimate and undeniable link between our eating patterns, and our emotions. Food can be a complex psychological subject, and we can have deeper nuanced issues around food. However there is no doubt between the link between eating better and better emotionally coping and clear thinking.
Always the first step if we are feeling ‘out of sorts’, weepy, overly emotional, crowding thoughts, ruminating etc. is to consider our food patterns.
Our eating patterns are also intimately linked to sleep and sleep patterns. Are you having bad sleeps? nightmares? Always the first step: problem solve your diet.
The diet that works for you has no name. It is a custom diet based on the individuality that is you. To think you are going to be able to pick up a book and follow the blueprint in the book probably won't work for the long run. You need to find what works for you. In order to do this you have to troubleshoot, tweak and find what works for your body.
Being on a 'restrictive diet' is not healing, it is coping.
If you come to see me and you are on one of these diets and it helps in some way for what is going on for you, it is diagnostic.
I am going sharing with you some broad strokes and general guidelines and truths that apply most people. These are recommendations I give to almost every patient. Things individual to you will need to be discussed with the personal Naturopathic Physician you are working with.

Dr. Jennifer Doan is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and Professional Homeopath and Integrative Body Psychotherapy practitioner. She has a private practice in Vancouver, BC for the past 25 years and works online and in person seeing patients from all across Canada and the US.

This introductory course is information to empower my patients and their families. You may get to the end of this course and realize it doesn't work for you. That's ok. This is information only and does not replace medical, homeopathic or Naturopathic care.
This is not a certificate or formal training. I am giving you basic home information only: bandaids and gauze to deal with the bumps and bruises of day to day life. How long do I have to access the course online?
You have access to the program materials for six (6) months from the start date. It comes with downloadable worksheets for you to look back on as you move forward. The course is fluid so you can move back and fourth from chapter to chapter.

How much time should I set aside to complete the course?
If you were doing this course in person, it would take approximately 3 hours. This depends on how fast you read, and how much time you want to spend with the material. The advantage of online course is you get to decide how much time every week you would like to spend learning the material. You have 6 months to use the course as a resource to refer to. If you want access for a longer time, please let me know and this can be extended for a fee.
