Work with Me
Research has shown that the most important factor in creating change is the therapeutic relationship between doctor and the client. It turns out that it is alot about a good ‘fit’. Clients need to feel safe and comfortable with the approach of the therapist. I offer a free 15 minute meet and greet for you to ask questions and allow you to determine whether this is a good ‘fit’ before booking an appointment.
One of the things I am very good at is holding an umbrella of hope for you when you have forgotten.
Here are some things I think would be important for you to know about me
I’ve got your back.
I help people feel held in the confusion of things. It’s hard to feel confident in choices these days, and know that I am on your side.
I meet you where you are at.
I have a range of skills and training that allows me to be fluid and exact in my approach, removing obstructions to whole health and allowing your system to strengthen and recalibrate. You don’t need to have experience, but what I look for in my patients is an open-ness to trying something different and a willingness to support your journey.
I work within the growth model.
The growth model is different than the conventional medical system model. Here’s one of the differences: the growth model understands there is hope for chronic conditions and takes a step-by-step approach for permanent change. You decide how much work you want to do - if you wish to take a few ‘lessons’ or dig deep into changing your health for good.
If you are singularly focussed on food and diet, or only functional medicine,I will help you to find a practitioner who will be a better fit for you.
Diet and lifestyle are foundational aspects of health. I will assume you know a little, and even if you don’t it’s ok and we may choose to deepen your work. I have created some online courses to help you with this part.
You are someone who prioritizes your health and organizes your life around your appointments.
We work together so you can begin to feel good again, and our time together is a priority. You are committed to supporting yourself on your journey.
You trust that complementary/alternative medicine will be effective for your needs.
You prefer to take a natural approach to health and healing.
I do not have Prescriptive Authority
I am fully fluent in Professional Homeopathic Materia Medica as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Professional Medical Herbalism. I am trained in conventional pharmaceuticals as part of my ND training however it requires additional training and licensing to prescribe which some of my colleagues have. If you are in BC and looking for someone to prescribe conventional pharmaceuticals or refill your conventional prescriptions, I will help you find someone who is a better fit for you.
I use a few specific labs and that’s it.
Most patients send me their labs or come in with their lab work already done with their GP. As a licensed ND I have access to lab in BC and Alberta, and if you request through me, they are considered private and there is a cost to you. I do have a few lab tests which I like and are helpful in certain situations. If you are looking for a doctor who you see for only annual physical examinations and regular labs, I will find someone who is a better fit for you.
A word about my Acupuncture designation
I have been a Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac) and member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists since 2001.
Under the new HPOA Regulations in British Columbia which come into effect on April 1, 2026, I am now covered to practice acupuncture under my ND license and no longer require a second license in British Columbia. Nothing changes for patients in British Columbia except for those who rely solely on acupuncture for billing. I have moved my acupuncture license to Alberta where I now hold the designation of Doctor of Acupuncture (Dr. Ac) in Alberta.
I don’t do IVs, injections, botox or ozone. I recognize the vital force, the self healing capacity of the body. My approach is to help you to remove obstructions and leverage your own innate healing capacity to alleviate suffering and ease pain. You will not find pushing or forcing here. If you are looking for IVs, injections of any kind, ozone therapy or botox, or the like, I will find someone who is a better fit for you.
Homeopathy, body awareness and western herbal medicine are not limited by any scope of licensure in any province in Canada.
It may look confusing at first to see some of my licenses. Each province has its own regulations regarding licensure and scope of practice. Professional homeopathy, functional medicine, western herbal medicine and body awareness practices are not limited to any license*. I support homeopathic associations across Canada.
I believe that homeopathy is the peoples medicine and not restricted to any jurisdiction conflict. You may not have coverage where you are, and my training and experience and your access remains the same.
*Ontario recognizes and regulates homeopathy as part of the medical system
